    Parking in Monnickendam

A parking-disc zone applies in the historic centre of Monnickendam: you set a parking disc behind your windscreen showing your arrival time. At the time of our last check the maximum parking time here was 2 hours, Monday to Saturday between 09:00–19:00; according to the municipality of Waterland this arrangement has been in force since 30 June 2025.

Inside the zone a parking disc is required, even for a short stop. Parking times, zone boundaries and conditions are local policy and can be changed by the municipality. For the current situation, always consult the official parking information of the municipality of Waterland.

    Parking for longer

If you stay longer than the permitted parking time, parking outside the parking-disc zone is the option to choose. A widely used possibility outside the parking-disc zone is parking at 't Bolwerk; the municipality explicitly names 't Bolwerk as an area outside the parking-disc zone.

Municipal rules and any conditions apply there too, and a free space is never guaranteed. Check the signs on site and, if in doubt, the current municipal parking information.
